Water Sports
Lake Geneva is only 30 mins drive away where water skiing, wake boarding and sailing amongst many other water-based activities can be enjoyed. The River Dranse running through the Morzine valley is also well known for its water activities
Canyoning is a real thrill seekers sport. Journey down the river with ropes and harnesses, slide down the natural toboggan runs sculpted by the river, jump into deep pools, ab-sail down waterfalls. Not for the faint hearted!
Rafting
white water on an inflatable dingy with a team of between 4 and 8 people led by a qualified guide is open to anyone who can swim. While for those who like the pace a bit steadier take a Kayak Raft which is technically sophisticated yet still easy to handle and navigate. A short drive takes you to one of the rafting schools that will provide all the equipment & tuition necessary for a thrilling (and wet!) afternoon.
Hydro-boarding
Floating down the river headfirst with a float. Fly down the rapids, swimming, slaloming and surfing as you go.
Outdoor pool Morzine
Morzine has an outdoor Olympic size swimming pool open to the public. There are also lakes at Montriond and Les Gets where you can swim.
Water Park and Lake Swimming
The Olympic size swimming pool in Morzine town centre offers sunbathing and swimming for all. There are 2 pools, including one measuring 50m by 21m, outside water flume a paddling pool, lawn, terrace and solarium, deckchairs and parasols:
Lake Montriond is not far from our chalet and this beautiful lake is perfectly setup for a day of fun in the sun. There are 2 beautiful lakeside restaurants where you can have a sumptuous lunch or take a bbq and enjoy an early evening feast in the setting sun. There is a children’s area which has a lifeguard and plenty of grassy banks. Around the lake there is horse riding, children’s activities and the opportunity to hire kayaks or canoes to take for a paddle in the lake.
Fishing
There are several good fishing sites in the Morzine area. Lake Montriond and Les Mines d'Or are two of the most beautiful and idyllic settings to relax and while away the hours waiting for a bite. The river Dranse runs from Morzine to Evian and Lake Geneva itself where highly sought after Geneva lake trout can be found. A Fishing licence can be purchased for a day or a holiday fortnight pass.
